Home, automobile and recreational vehicles insurance

Home insurance protects your investment against property damage caused by fire, water damage, theft and vandalism. It also protects your assets should you cause bodily injury or property damage to a third party: general liability covers the legal costs to defend you, and if found negligent, the amount you are legally obliged to pay as an indemnity to the third party who suffered harm.

There are advantages to combining your automobile insurance with the insurer that insures your home.

At assurart, we seek to offer you protections that are adapted to your needs and your budget.

Valuable objects insurance (art, wine, jewellery)

Most trust their home insurance policy will cover valuable objects. Unfortunately, it is not always the case as some insurance policies limit the indemnity payable per object while others simply exclude certain valuable items.

Some insurance policies are specifically designed to cover valuable objects, at home, at the cottage, while in transit, at the framer, at the art conservator or appraiser, etc.

At assurart we can help you find coverage that best answers your needs.

Legal Expense Insurance

Did you know?

Most people think they are unlikely to become involved in a legal dispute, but an employment issue, faulty goods or a tax issue are actually very common.

  • 48% of Canadians over 18 will experience at least one civil or family justice issue over any given 3-year period.1
  • 40% of Canadians reported experiencing a high level of stress or health issues following a legal dispute.1
  • The average hourly rate for an experienced lawyer in Canada is 414$.2

Most families are unable to face the cost and complexities of the Canadian legal system without expensive legal help and advice.

Available to ASSURART Personal Lines clients for as little as $132 per year, a Legal Expense Insurance policy will allow you to defend or pursue your legal rights and reputation without worrying about the cost and stress involved to resolve the dispute.

With this policy, underwritten by ARAG, you would be covered up to $100,000 per claim and $1,000,000 per year for various disputes related to:

  • employment disputes such as wrongful dismissal or unlawful discrimination
  • disputes over the purchase of consumer goods and services or for privately selling goods
  • legal nuisance, trespass, or damage to your property
  • disputes with your neighbours or tenants
  • personal tax audit disputes

The insurance also includes:

  • 24/7 access to a Legal Info Helpline
  • Access to lawyers who can review legal documents of up to 6 pages per year
  • Access to a library of legal document templates
